Off to London...

I wonder if Bottega have a sale on? I'm meeting my friend Louise (she has the amazing jewellery stand next to me at Hammersmith vintage fair) tomorrow, - we are having tea followed by sale shopping until we are too hot to carry on....I am looking for a new purse, a bikini and a few dresses from COS...I'm supposed to be getting stock ready for Hammersmith vintage fair on Sunday 5th and then the opening of my boutique at Brown and White but it is too hot to work. Chelsea was brilliant on Sunday, apart from extreme heat in the town hall, well attended and managed to sit down a lot for once....I will be emailing the free tickets to Hammersmith on Thursday, if anyone would like one do let me know xx samayaling@yahoo.co.uk

"In an Absolut world, ideas grow on trees" is my contributed picture for the show in Munich, running until June 25th at the Temporary Gallery, Baaderstrasse 7, between 6pm and 11pm. Common People: A Street Style Fashion Show

We're having a fashion show!

On July 5th, as part of Wedding Dress #4, Stil in Berlin presents Common People, a street-style themed fashion show. I've collected twenty of Berlin's best-dressed characters and had them style themselves to walk down the runway (a few of which you can see above). Featuring a live performance by Kinky White Horse and hair by Persona Non Grata.

Later...my lovely web designer is fixing a few things on the site (www.samayalingvintage.com) tonight, new homepage images are up already and a cart system is on the way! I have just been getting ready for the Archive (pre 1950s) Fashion Fair next Wednesday 24th June in Cheltenham (http://www.archivefashionfair.co.uk/) - it should be really good, lots of different dealers (look out for Liz Van Hasselt and her amazing rails of clothing!) ...I am looking for an oversized 1930s clutch bag...
I'm now definitely doing the 5th July 2009 @ Hammersmith Vintage Fair (http://www.pa-antiques.co.uk/) - and then that is it until September - over the summer I'll be working on the website and my new venture at Brown & White for Libs Lewis (http://www.sharlandandlewis.com/). Brown & White is a fantastic shop, 53 Long St, in Tetbury, GL8 8AA. I have a space from the 8th of July & will have a rail of beautiful dresses and a big glass cabinet full of jewellery and accessories. Tetbury is a beautiful town, set in the Cotswalds and full of antique and vintage shops as well as lovely cafes and boutiques, really worth a visit if you have never been there!

New Vintage Shop in Clifton...

Today I met Heather (one of my lovely customers from Stroud Vintage Fair), we had coffee and then went to check out the new vintage boutique in The Arcade, Clifton (www.cliftonarcade.co.uk). I bought some perfect condition 1970s black leather stilettos for me as I get through them rather fast - the heels always get wrecked! Alexis Kirk...

I have found another Alexis Kirk Necklace, this one comes with earrings too - fabulous for summer but personally I would wear them separately! I have learned a good lesson this June, 6 fairs in one month is an absolute no no, I am very tired and have had no time for pampering and that will not do. Last Sunday 7th the Tribal Art and Vintage Costume Fair was amazing, I found some great pieces for me and sold very well too. It was lovely to be in the Hilton too....meanwhile Robert did my stand for me at Cecil Sharpe House - that is the last time there for now, have to concentrate on my regular fairs...hope to see some of you at Hammersmith Vintage Fair this Sunday 14th June -
