Massive Attack...

What a weekend. Usually when I have a fair the next day I make sure to go to bed by 10pm (with 8 hour cream on) and everything ready to go. This Saturday we went to see Massive Attack at the Brixton Academy, it was such a good show, brilliant to hear unfinished symphony live. Spent some of the night looking for my best friend Sylvie (xx) found her in the end in the VIP bar which is where I ended up at the free bar making rather large g&ts', dancing and before long it was nearly 3 am and I was spinning out (total lightweight) and left for our hotel. We made it to set up at Frock me and actually had a brilliant day with help from expresso and paracetamols (poor stomach). Yasmin Le Bon was there (at Frock Me), I did not know until yesterday that she is designing for Wallis - great stuff too, have a look (www.ylb4wallis.com)

Probably the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in person and extremely stylish. I showed her my Alaia leather jacket and she told me she had one with a peplum - strangely when I found the Alaia last week (vintage holy grail) my friend Louise told me about how he (Alaia) had made clothes for Yasmin, Grace Jones and other iconic 80s women...

I have been researching shoes lately and trying to find lower heels that I can walk in, gracefully, that still look powerful rather than frumpy...finally found them! Caesar, who is sometimes in the back bar room of Hammersmith vintage fair, brings all his pieces from the USA and had about 6 pairs of 1940s shoes THAT ALL FIT ME. I was good and only took 2 pairs..they are perfect, sweet details, right height and so stylish, come and see me in them at Frock Me Vintage Fashion Fair this Sunday (http://www.frockmevintagefashion.com). Hammersmith was brilliant, so good to see everyone again.

Last week my friend Katie from Angel Jackson (her bags pictured above) www.angeljackson.co.uk asked me to help her arrange her party at London Fashion Week, I said no as I wanted to get on with my work but she asked again this weekend so today I was there helping (not much). She gave me a list of press to call and invite...I made the first call to Look Magazine and must have sounded like a heavy breather (nervous loss of breath not pervert) - its been fun but a really good lesson in why I work for myself............

Forgot to say about our holiday to Italy's Amalfi Coast (south of Napoli) - I have never been anywhere so beautiful, we stayed in a funny sort of caravan on the beach....just a few miles worth of harepin bends from this picture...I want to live there when I grow up. x samaya

School starts tomorrow...

Phew for school starting tomorrow, we are a bit tired of each other here. I went to Bath vintage fair on Sunday 6th and spoke with Pearl Lowe, she had a stall there selling her own lovely clothes and showed me photos of her new collection for Peacocks, it looks brilliant, I want the incredible sequin wrap dress...they should be in store by November.
I have found a few more of the above featured statement necklaces...they are made from leather and pewter by the Toureg, (usually worn in the Sahara) in the Hamza shape (five - hand of Fatima) they are on the website and available now. . . .
