paisley at the park...

This is currently my favorite skirt. It's honestly what I wear instead of sweatpants around the house. I just find pants awfully restricting, skirts are way more roomy & comfy. Anyways, while I do where is around the house bunches I also think it is way more appropriate than sweatpants to venture outside in. So I took my favorite paisley skirt to Wash Park for some photos.

The park made me extra excited for spring, I can't wait for leaves!!

Martenitsa - a piece of adornment for welcoming the Spring

This is Bulgarian Tradition:

Martenitsa is a small piece of adornment, made of white and red yarn and worn from March 1 until around the end of March.

On the first day of March and few days afterwards, Bulgarians exchange and wear white and red tassels or small dolls called Pizho and Penda. In Bulgarian folklore the name Baba Marta (meaning Grandma March) is related to a grumpy old lady whose mood swings change very rapidly.

***Give your friends and relatives this piece of adornment for Health and Friendship. ***
***Contact me if you want more than 1, to make new listing of Set***
Measurement:
about 4 inch (10 cm.)

Variate of Martenitsa models if you like them contact me (max price 5$)
This is an old pagan tradition and remains almost unchanged today. The common belief is that by wearing the red and white colours of the martenitsa people ask Baba Marta for mercy. They hope that it will make winter pass faster and bring spring. Many people wear more than one martenitsa. They receive them as presents from relatives, close friends and colleagues.

Martenitsa is usually worn pinned on the clothes, near the collar, or tied around the wrist. You can hang it at home, wherever you want, pin it on your bag or coat, hang it on the wall or everywhere else.

The tradition calls for wearing the martenitsa until the person sees a stork or a blooming tree. The stork is considered a harbinger of spring and as evidence that Baba Marta is in a good mood and is about to retire.

Surprise your friends and relative with something untypical for your culture. Surprise them with this positive tradition, of giving small piece of Spring.

Are you ready for Spring?

New Scarves on the board

Today I listed new scarves. For two of them I am inspired of drop stitch knitting. It's so much joy, I could stop myself knitting.

Brown multicolor Wool Hand Knit Scarf

Spring is coming .... I try to think "Spring" - bright, light, cheerful, blossoming flowers, green every where .. This colorful yarn inspired me to start my Spring 2010 Collection, I hope it is a good start, and I will do variety of scarves for Spring.
