I wrote this poem this morning, and it's something Ive been trying to get out for awhile, and today I was blessed with the words. So Read up and comment!!-Kels



If I Let You In

If I let you in, will you promise to never leave?

Never leave me waiting, never leave me guessing, stressing

My hearts wide open so point me in the right direction,

I know promises were made to broken, but my hearts wide open,

Just tell me this is all foreal, and not just a moment to steal,

Steal my heart away like a thief in the night, show me you could be my type,

Yes I know I’m demanding, maybe even overwhelming, at first,

But if you knew me like I knew me, like I want you to know me, you would love me,

Love my voice and every word I speak, even those times when I get too shy
to speak,

Even those times when I get weak in my spirit, wondering if you hear it,

I articulate my feelings, just hoping you hear it,

Just praying you understand it, do you?

My skin shivers at the very thought of you, sometimes even the idea of you,

I know I might sound like a cliché, sentimental, but it’s true!

True, honest, genuine, and all the above, maybe even a pinch of love,

Love is who I am, what I am, compassionate and lovable is me,

No secret no lie, just look in my eyes,

Respect my thoughts and opinion; it’s the reason for my ambition,

The same ambition that led me to be the woman I am, and the woman I strive to be,

All I’m asking is for you to come share that with me,
