Adam's Entourage

What's the best way to experience a gigantic vintage show on a sunny saturday afternoon? Bring an entourage of fun-loving, slightly hungover, ridiculously fashionable people and get silly. There is so much to see and try on at this show it's easy to forget one was stumbling out of Indochine the night before. (Hey, we're only human. Happy birthday Julia!)

For designer Adam Lippes it wasn't the first time he visited the Pier Antiques Show. And though he was actually more interested in the antiques - he's an avid collector - than the vintage, he couldn't help but get giddy and excited each time we found a good vendor. I only see Adam in his signature white T and jeans or in a tuxedo, so I was a little surprised when he bought a cream, silk and cotton thermal at The Archives. ("It's not too Wangy?")
And we all know Hanneli Mustaparta has a thing for clothes and shoes - have you seen her self-titled blog lately? - so to witness her go nuts over a fabulous dress and try to bargain with the owners was hilariously entertaining. No, Hanneli, I don't think they will go down from $950 to $250 just because you're beautiful! (Well... who knows...) And Anais Pouillot, one of my favorite girls, well, she is just too cute for words. Thanks for being patient with grandma and grandpa, Anais.

Adam and Anais at the Lofty Vintage booth. Anais is wearing a faux fur hat and knit sweater dress.
19-year old Canadian model, Anais Pouillot is represented by Trump models in New York and a regular on the Prada and Miu Miu runway. I listed her as one of my three favorite faces on style.com (http://www.style.com/stylefile/2010/09/catwalk-watch-natalie-joos/)
Hanneli at Lofty Vintage, wearing a knit paisley dress and felt hat.
It's big!

now belongs to Hanneli), at Fool's Gold.

YSL red and black jacket.
I see so many pieces from this collection, everywhere I go, but to be totally honest,
this  collection was not very flattering. Everything is kind of boxy and boring.
Geoffrey Beene navy wool jumpsuit with cotton bib and open back.
At Marlene's.
Adam has two giant poodles, but a dachshund will do for now.
The display of Nomad Vintage.
Aha! The Prada banana leaves and monkeys inspiration, right here at the Pier!

Look who we bumped into! Michelle Harper with hat boxes from the estate of
a 1950's cabaret singer!
