What a day...
Phew, long long day involving some fun and some not fun jobs, like hanging around for ages at a garage getting new tyres put on...and waxing my mums kitchen shelf when I only went there looking for a cuppa and a chat! But, after a nice hot candlelit bath (the boys only came in a few times and put the light on) I feel lovely and had to get online to say: Louise Ferdinando has a website! And its beautiful, very simple and elegant, have a peek: http://www.ferdinandojewels.co.uk/Ferdinando_Jewels/Welcome.htmlI want the 1940s showgirl necklace...its almost a cape. Vlad made the website so good I could not even pinch an image to show you so do click the link xx I have been sorting out the catalogue for the Vintage Fashion Auction today at Dreweatts and Bloomsbury, its looking good and they are getting some amazing pieces in, some very wearable 1920s - 1980s pieces and some crazy collector pieces, like the Queen Mothers wedding dress.......will put full details when I have them, do email me if you want to be on the mailing list for the catalogue when its ready, the sale date is the 1st of February 2011. I like a nice deadline, so much so that I have booked a buying trip / holiday for the 2nd of February to THAILAND! Aah, pineapple and coconut shakes, beach huts and lots of shopping for weird massive jewellery...most of the necklaces and rings I brought home last time sold straight away to a friend of Roberts, this time I will make sure some gets to the fairs and online. Here is a flapper dress I want! Its an original Yvonne from Paris, http://www.antiquedress.com/item6229.htm
Also! Lovely Claire Dixon wanted me to invite you all to:Dazzle, (an excellent exhibition), Art Deco fashions from the Roaring Twenties 20 November – 16 January , The Gallery, Winchester Discovery Centre Jewry Street, Winchester SO23 8SB www.discoverycentres.co.uk/winchester
I am off to have a cup of green tea, I am doing a bootcamp at the moment so no wine and the classes are full on, never have I ached so much. I asked Rob to have a feel of me to see the difference and in typical Rob style he said: "You still have a long way to go". Goodnight my lovelies xxx
