flickr finds...

I was perusing through flickr & stumbled across these gems. I am a sucker for stylish people captured on camera. The photos are from 2010 but thats ok. They were taken at something titled the Death Disco, which I have never heard of but sounds like it would be pretty sweet. Anyways, I just thought they deserved to be shared!

Bangkok....

Still no images - will get some loaded up as soon as I get home! Bangkok is so so mad, huge and polluted but INCREDIBLE, the people are so brilliant - especially the taxi drivers...we are not doing too well with the buying we wanted to do, 8 year old boys just want to stay poolside and eat room service ("mum, I don't want to see another bowl of rice EVER or a fried fish and Bangkok is horrible and and and") plus its so dusty out on the streets even your teeth get covered if you are smiling alot....tonight we are headed to the river (there are ferries every 5 minutes up and down to night markets and food markets) to get some air and go to some antique fairs....on Saturday we went to the famous Chatuchat market...so big that it has its own map (Nancy Chandler maps quite good but not up to date as I found out after a few frustrating hours). The vintage shop I wanted to visit is not there anymore and most of the stuff for sale is your average t shirts, sarongs and weird wooded frogs....hey, we had our first family holiday row on Friday when we arrived - cor it was not pretty, big Rob caused little Rob to run in a panic through the turnstile at the Sky Train station and get caught in the gate and told off by a warden and to top it all off hurt himself as well, I called Big Rob a bad name in front of little Rob (sorry) and he shouted his head off at the nice peaceful sky train platform....little Rob then told us to shut our gobs (exact words) and we all sulked for a while and then realized we had not eaten hardly or drank any water..once we had replenished ourselves all looked bright and bushy tailed again and off we went for supper.....we are back in the UK on Tuesday and I CANNOT WAIT - see my family, wear some different clothes and sleep in my own bed....love Samaya xxxx

White Blackbird - Tainted Love

With the help of White Blackbird, country house parties and the spirit and decadence of the Bright Young Things lives on. At Stoke Place, a 17th Century country house hotel, nestled in deepest darkest Buckinghamshire (it is rather near Slough but don’t let that put you off) you can experience a party in the hedonistic style of the 1920s - too much alcohol, flamboyant attire and a rather eccentric crowd of people all out to enjoy life.

The latest event was entitled ‘Tainted Love’ - and judging from how many guests wore black it felt like a wake of rejected lovers. Every room seemed to buzz with people like never before - these parties are already becoming legendary and are a must if you are growing weary of the usual nightclubs and bars.

Here you can float from room to room, where you might chance upon lovers kissing in the cinema made for two, a fascinating talk on Aphrodisiacs by Head Chef Craig Van der Meer who shares his equally stimulating canapés, or The Robin Collective explaining their secret ‘Love Potion’ which they insist you try at your own risk!

We sampled delicious concoctions from the Apothecary bar before being tempted by vodka guru William Borrell into playing a ridiculously easy game of cards. The aim of the game? To win a shot of his new flavoured Vestal vodka!

Sometime later….a large crowd had gathered to watch an almost naked performance of Adam and Eve by Trixie Malicious and Josh Knowles in the Garden of Eden. This was followed by the Star Crossed Lovers assault course - and by this time there were many volunteers hoping to embarrass their friends!

A large queue was developing for the 24 red roses midnight feast, heavily protected by numerous security guards predicting a stampede - understandable considering that amount of sugar in the various forms of Turkish delight, chocolate and macaroons hadn’t been seen since Marie Antoinette’s boudoir.

At White Blackbird, smiling as one of the many photographers takes your picture, you realise that now you too are one of the beautiful people. You know how to dress, make love and most of all - party. There is only one tragedy, time seems to go at breakneck speed. It is as though you are lost in a maze you try hard not to escape from - you open doors to bedrooms where you might find ladies dressing up in vintage, people participating in ‘Speed Relationships’, or encounter a vision of a veiled woman dancing seductively.

Some fortunate guests are lucky enough to retire to their own rooms for the night. For the less privileged, the coach, which collected the party-goers from Hanover Square at 6.45pm, safely returns them to London at 2.30am. Tickets are £35 inclusive of transport. With themes as varied as The Silver Ball, Childhood and St George’s we eagerly anticipate the next evening of magic and wonderment awaiting us!

My Homecoming Dress!

Saturday night was my schools homecoming dance! So I bought this dress from a vintage store a couple of weeks ago and took it to a alteration shop. I basically redesigned the dress lol, I wish you could see it before. The dress was very long and baggy, something your Grandmother would wear LOL. So I shorten the length and took the dress in A LOT, so it came out to be more fitted. Well I wore it last night and I got a couple of pics, check em out and tell me what you think. THANKS
