Christmas Shopping?

Just to show you a picture from the 'street style' shoot we did yesterday, more pictures coming soon, big Thank You to all the models and photographer (Chris Lucas) who wore next to nothing outside in the freezing cold xx This picture is of Frankie in the Rudi Gernreich dress.....one of the warmer outfits...Hammersmith Vintage Fair this coming Sunday 5th December...as usual email me if you'd like tickets, an excellent place to gather vintage goodies for pressies or yourself! Christmas is coming fast and I have only bought myself presents so far - Namely a red monogrammed Comme Des Garcons purse from my friends Sophie's shop....http://www.merchantarchive.com/ and a few books (crime - my new literature phase) and CDs but they were 'used' from Amazon and me and little Rob have discovered a new love for Phil Collins 'I can feel it in the air tonight'.... xx love Samaya

Vintage Seekers

I am trying to resize photos for uploading to Vintage Seekers! Its a new online store with lots of amazing antiques and vintage, here is a link: http://www.vintageseekers.com/. Robert put some of his luggage on and has sold 2 pieces in the last 4 days - its getting a lot of good press.
Jewellery - 1980s Chanel Earrings
Meanwhile I am also choosing stock for a very important meeting tomorrow! I will tell all as soon as I can - but Rob is getting his DJ set together for the launch party of KING OF PAINT tomorrow night (new Graffiti shop in Bristol, we live in graffiti central) so loud loud Public Enemy and other old school hip hop is blasting out and frankly rather distracting. At least I am getting to practice my dance moves for tomorrow...not sure what to wear, certainly not trainers, unlike some old 'heads' I have left behind my skater / hop hop / rucksack wearing chick days behind...perhaps some huge 80s earrings (the ones above are vintage Chanel), workawear jumpsuit and gucci heels? Love samaya x

I love presents!!

Garance Dore, Connie Wang (Refinery 29), Valerie Killeen (Bleach Black), Julia Frakes, Emily Weiss (Into the Gloss), Natalie Joos (Tales of Endearment), Emily Schuman (Cupcakes and Cashmere), Christine Cameron (My Style Pill) and Helane Crowell (Fashion Love Me) share their top holiday gifts. http://www.harpersbazaar.com/fashion/fashion-articles/blogger-fashion-gifts

Here are mine - Mom, dad, are you taking notes??
1. Nikon D700 SLR camera w 50 mm lens. I need to upgrade the photography on my blog. I am not a photographer so I think having a better, bigger, more expensive camera will bring me better images! What a brilliant and totally lame excuse...
2. Classic black Chanel bag with silver chain: every girl needs a bag like this. Just is.
3. Isabel Marant multi-colored fur coat: This coat will make ANY outfit look effortlessly chic and cool. My friend Erin Wasson lent it to me once and I can't get it out of my mind....
4. Gym membership to Clay Health Club + Spa. I was a member for 6 months a couple of years ago and really enjoyed the experience. I generally loathe gyms (and that's an understatement) but Clay is cozy, small and totally private. It's never crowded, the staff is friendly and the members are low-key. And they have the best juice bar! I would take yoga once or twice a week, one spinning class and one pilates class.  Did Santa read this?

Twiggy me Twiggy

When an editor at Japanese Vogue approached me a month ago to quiz me about my fashion icons, I had a few names in mind: Audrey Hepburn, Brigitte Bardot, Kate Moss, Faye Dunaway, Twiggy. All these women have a distinct, classic style that has inspired generations of designers, tastemakers and fabulous women in general. After a few e-mails and back and forth commentary I finally settled on Twiggy, because I feel she embodies my sense of style the most.

I don't read Japanese but I am pretty sure some of my quote translates as follows: "I love the 60's. And through her style, Twiggy represents everything about the sixtes: happiness, rebellion, freedom, color, the future. She revolutionized fashion with her short skirts and pixie hair cut and became an icon of the era. She paved the way for women who had a voice, who wanted something different and were not afraid to stand out. I love her petite body, her big, curious eyes and her fresh style. She's truly unique and inspiring."
