Temples: Mosque, Mall and Church, 2007-02-25

Till, 28, musician
Q: What's up with the lady boots on a men's bike?
A: My bike handles a complex definition of gender in order to question the established binary one. The boots however are because of the cold.
The clothes I wear come from different sources, like unknown designers soon-to-be-copied-by-H&M or cosmopolitan second hand shops. I like to combine things...to create something individual, you know.

I'm wearing a red coat by Sinéquanone from this season, kneelength trousers by MEXX from summer 2006 and a bag by Kaviar Gauche, also from this season. I like to be inspired while shopping, I pay a lot attention to form and color. Little boutiques with special pieces are the best places to shop, but I also like Zara, Mango and so on.

brrrrrrr-mode, 2007-02-11

Jared, 18, student
I'm wearing a vintage trench that was passed on to me by my grandfather (at least 4 decades old). The raw jeans are by hells bells. I bought the boots (perfect for tight pants in the winter - fur inside) in moscow ( by Nazereno Giani).
In general I like small shops. Although I think that the swedish massproduction (for example) is a great thing, I would hate seeing every 5th person on the street wearing the same thing as I wear. I love second hand and all stores that sell special and limited edition sneakers. Not too long ago I discovered this store, that offers the most wonderful pants, on the Kastanienallee: Extrafein
The styles in old movies fascinate me. I also tend to take the advice of the Dior Homme designer Hedi Slimane for the youth: to copy the style of his fashion in one's own way instead of buying it (I couldn't afford it anyway).
I am very versatile and open in my style. I adore retro and chic as much as I adore practical and functional clothing. Although i would never categorize myself ... it comes down to indie.
I realize, subconciously, fashion is very important to me. I don't think too much about my daily outfit, but i could never leave home without being satisfied with what I wear.

Blue, 2007-02-09

Charlotte, 19, student
"I am wearing a navy-blue wintercoat with a white leatherbelt, black pants, a navyblue beany, a red scarve and a golden handbag. Fashion means a lot to me: I love choosing clothes from my (and especially other peoples) cupboards and combining them in a new way! I just spent 3 months in south africa and bought lots of stuff there... My style depends on my mood."

Janne, 19, fashion intern
"I am wearing a turquois parka, the "sleepwalker" by Sigur Ros is printed on the back, glasses and a bag are from the flea market and a selfmade yellow dress. The most things I wear are selfmade or presents. If I have to buy stuff it's mostly H&M, cause it's so cheap. But I often alter them. I also like American Apparel and flea markets. I'm inspired by music, colors, art and the nordic landscapes. My style is very colorful, I mix up scandinavian and british fashion. Fashion is very important for me, especially color combination - I'm thinking a lot about my style before I leave the house in the morning."
