Stop Traffic Clothing Launch Party at 40 Winks

Yesterday was Stop Traffic Clothing's official launch party at the decidedly decadent event that is Tart at 40 Winks. We were proud to show some of Stop Traffic’s Vintage-Inspired clothing and Accessories and hopefully spread the word about our new online store - Stop Traffic Clothing

Beautiful and interesting women all dressing up, sipping gin-punch out of tea-cups, what could be more fun? Our dapper host, David Carter certainly thought so, doffing his trademark top hat as they arrived.

40 Winks boutique hotel, a Queen Anne Townhouse, is akin to tumbling down the rabbit warren in Alice in Wonderland. At first glance it is impossible to take it all in, your eyes alight on a magnum of champagne, feather boas, old family portraits and sofas bathed in cushions, inviting you to recline, slightly intoxicated with punch and luxury.

Fleur de Guerre was Hostess, introducing us to new guests. The ladies made a bee-line for Lipstick and Curls, who were on hand to apply false eyelashes, curlers and lashings of eyeliner.

As we're an online store, we were thrilled to see lots of ladies trying our dresses on, and to hear all the positive feedback. David Carter said he couldn’t believe how many ladies were floating around wearing our dresses, and how fabulous they all looked. They certainly didn’t seem in any hurry to give them back! One lady purchasing the Jazmin dress, didn’t want us to package it up, insisting on wearing it right away - that’s how clothing should make a woman feel!

The Vintage Patisserie catered for the event - delicate sandwiches with the crusts cut off (of course), and miniature cupcakes with ‘Tart’ inscribed in chocolate, yummy!

Flattered that the event organisers felt Stop Traffic Clothing fitted in so well with the concept of 40 Winks, we are very excited to be invited back. There is talk of making Tart even bigger and better next year, such has been the demand for these unique afternoons of pampering and gossip! A big thank you to my stunning friend Amy for helping out.
